The client : Mencap

The challenge :

The senior team at the charity wanted to collaborate with the key business unit leaders and other specialists to determine how they could ensure the views and experiences of children and young people were at the centre of all their youth related work.

The approach :

Mencap wanted the team responsible for delivery to openly input their expertise, hopes, ideas, dreams and aspirations for the future of their work with children and young people – specifically they wanted to explore how they could move from being an organisation FOR children and young people to an organisation WITH children.

The impact :

The team collaborated together to gain deeper insight, understanding and clarity around the challenge.
They explored and agreed what should be the next
steps for the organisation – what were the most important things – from sign off from senior managers
to consultation with children and young people.
The ideas generated contributed to the creation of a new strategy, allowing all of the key people to make effective decisions with real confidence and commitment.
