Building collaboration capability case stories
The client : British Airways
The challenge :
To highlight and reinforce collaborative skills and behaviours in an inspiring way at the “Learn Something New” Training Conference.
The approach :
Working with BA’s Training Team, BA Community Relations Team and the teachers at a local secondary school an afternoon of “Mini Ideathons” was created. The groups comprised of BA trainers and students from the local school.
The aim was to create a unique experience for both the BA Trainers and the school students that would explore collaboration skills and make the participants more aware of the impact they can have on the communities in which they operate.
The challenges were a mix of BA business problems and challenges that the local school was facing.
The impact :
Although this was a training workshop, the challenges set by both BA and the local school were real and current. The Mini Ideathon workshops reinforced and built upon BA’s core values of collaboration and community involvement.
They also provided a stimulating environment for BA and the school to learn from each other. A number of the ideas generated in the workshops were further developed by both BA and the school.
